And honestly? I think it saved me.

What is Body Doubling?
Body doubling is a practice (especially helpful for ADHDers and creatives) where you get more done simply because someone else is in the room—virtually or physically. They don’t even have to do anything. Their presence is enough to help regulate your focus and energy.
But I’ve found there’s an even more powerful version of this:
Guided Accountability.
My Story: Following People… on Purpose
When I was little, I would follow my mom around the house with my homework or toys. If she moved rooms, I moved too. It probably drove the adults nuts, but I needed to be near someone to feel grounded enough to function.
As I grew up, this instinct stayed with me.
- Couldn’t clean my room? I’d call my best friend to come sit with me.
- Visiting someone’s house? I was helping them wash dishes.
- Studying? Cafés and libraries only. My house? Not a chance.
- Working from home with a baby? My productivity died—until I got on Zoom with other moms and entrepreneurs, babies screaming and all.
Even if we weren’t working on the same thing, even if it was chaotic… I was finally able to focus.
From Body Doubling to Guided Accountability
Then I met my friend Charlena—absolute gem of a human—and she gave me the language I didn’t know I needed:
Guided Accountability.
She even wrote a book about it.
It clicked. It wasn’t just body doubling. It was body doubling with purpose. With support. With strategy.
It’s like office hours… but for getting stuff DONE.
Like writing sprints… but more collaborative and conversational.
It’s the perfect blend of presence, feedback, and progress.
So I Built It Into My Business
Now I offer 90-minute co-working sessions that mix body doubling with guided strategy. I sit with you (virtually), answer questions in real-time, offer direction when you get stuck, and most importantly… we actually do the thing.
